Official translation · driving licenceDriving licence translation for the exchange in Slovakia
If you live in Slovakia and want to exchange your foreign driving licence for a Slovak one, the traffic police (dopravný inšpektorát) may ask for an official translation into Slovak. I translate both sides of the licence, with the official seal.
Good to know
- Whether you need a translation depends on the country that issued your licence. Ask the traffic police office where you live.
- You keep your original licence. The translation is bound to a notarised copy of both sides, not to the original.
- An International Driving Permit is not a translation for this purpose.
Price
From €20. A driving licence is shorter than one page.
How it works
- Send a photo of your document on WhatsApp or by email. I reply with the exact price and the date it will be ready.
- Bring the original or a notarised copy to my office in Trnava, or send it by post.
- Collect your official translation. It is bound to the document with the Slovak tricolour ribbon, signed and sealed.
